Well, the littlest guy got better, which is good because this is what he looks like when he's sick. The Grumpmeister. Later that same night, Tess threw up ALL OVER her crib. And by all over, I mean ALL OVER. That was Thursday night. Saturday night, Tanner and Tatum were vomiting. By Monday night, Travis had it too. Thankfully, I have run out of kids to get sick. The older ones are all back to school and feeling better. And the two littlest are bouncing off the walls.
My girl is 15 months old. I'm not sure how. I think she did it while I wasn't looking.
She has been wandering around the house today on two feet but as you can tell from the video, she does it only when she feels like it. Asserting her independence. As if waiting until 15 months wasn't assertive enough. Tanner walked at 10 months and the other kids walked right before their first birthdays, so having this 1 plus yr old who refused to walk was a bit odd.
She is working on tooth number 5, finally. It's been 5 months since we saw a new tooth. She's obviously not been in any rush to move from babyhood to toddler hood. Like she knows she's probably the last so she's making me cherish it, or maybe it's for Daddy's benefit. I mentioned moving her crib into Tate's room and he wasn't quite ready for that step.
I admit, I'm not quite ready for her to grow up either.
On a side note, my littlest man is sick. He woke me up with a hug, laid his head on my bed, then promptly turned around to projectile vomit all over my carpet. Poor baby. His belly hasn't been feeling too good today. I asked him if he wanted to lie down and he said no. I went to hang up some clothes, walked back through my room, and the little guy was passed out in my bed. He's been asleep for a few hours now. Hope he's feeling better tomorrow.
We took the little peeps out to trick or treat on Saturday. Tessie was a frog who didn't want to pose for pictures.
Travis was a scary skeleton.
Tanner was a vampire.
Tatum was a cheerleader. You can just make out Braeden behind her. He was the scarecrow and was way too interested in leaving to stand still for a picture.
Teagan was a moody skeleton. The only other pics I got that night were with my phone. My camera battery died. Darn.
Sunday we took our annual fall trip to Brumbaugh's fruit farm. It was the last day of the season so there were very few people there. And even though it was only in the 50's, it was a surprisingly nice day. Of course, I was wearing long johns under my clothes.
Tess got a kick out of "walking" with Daddy and Tanner. She still refuses to do it on her own though.
You might notice, it was a bit sunny.
The kids had a good time though, sliding down Monster Mountain
and taking turns on the zip line.
Most of them were happy to ride the caterpiller train.
The big kids played in the big hamster wheel thingie
While Tess spent some time playing in the corn crib.
We brought the pumpkins in last night and set to carving them up.
The kids really liked it, but I was reminded why we painted them last year.
The stringy guts are a pain.
Luckily, my husband usually takes pity on me when I whine and say "this isn't working".
Notice the biggest T was absent from the festivities. He's way too cool for making jack o lanterns. The littlest T was about, crawling around our feet. I'm sure the pumpkin guts would have went straight to her mouth if we let her any closer. I'm already going to have to scan the floor for pumpkin seeds before she gets up in the morning.
I think they turned out pretty cool.
Mom and Travis's jack o lanterns
Tate's contributions
And Teagan's creation. Yes, he has ears, and "dots on his forehead".
I don't know, pimples maybe?
I think we'll try carving again next year. It wasn't too incredibly messy, and we will get to enjoy some roasted pumpkin seeds. Yum.
What have we been up to lately? Not finishing my procrastinator's project, in case you were wondering. This chalkboard still looks like this. Why? Well, you see, it's like this, I'm a procrastinator. I was busy doing other things, but sometimes...... I wasn't.
I did pick up a big box of corn from the farmer's market a couple weekends ago.
I had big plans to shuck it all and freeze it. Luckily, I had a little help.
Tatum got pretty good at it.
Teagan got good at making a mess with the silks.
And Tess got good at taking the ears of corn out of the basket
and putting them in the box of husks.
Anyway, we have several bags of corn on the cob and about 4 cans of corn off the cob.
I'll let you know how it worked out when we try some.
I am a busy wife and Mama to 5. I blog about the antics of my little tribe, working and going to grad school, budgeting for a family of 7, losing the baby weight, redecorating with no creative skills, and whatever else comes up while raising this brood of many children. These tales may not all be about the T's, but they are my tales to tell.
Future generations may well have the occasion to ask, what were our parents thinking? If you are a parent, join with your children to save the world they will live in. ~~Al Gore~~
