Double digits

Tatum has joined the double digit world. We celebrated her 10th birthday last night.
As you can tell, she was super excited. Or wigged out on sugar.
Not sure which.

She's well into tween mode so it'll be interesting to see
what new adventures are in store for us this year.

And then it turned cold

While Thanksgiving was nice and warm, by Saturday, it was darn near freezing.
But, it was Krista and Mia's last day in Tennessee
so we headed out to Tellico for some sight seeing.
The last time we went to Bald River Falls was in the summer.
A 36 degree day in front of a waterfall is pretty uncomfortable.
Hence the lack of a decent picture.

All in all, we had a great visit with Krista and Mia and can't wait for them to come back down.

A Warm Fall Day

After hanging out for awhile on the swingset

we took advantage of the warm day to walk outside and visit the farm animals

Of course, no walk is complete without a swing

but 2 yr olds don't always like to take turns.
Which may result in some hair pulling, followed by I'm sorry hugs.

After visiting the chickens, there was some more walking
to go visit the cows.
And this guy, who used to hang out in our front yard.
The cows weren't sure what to think
And neither was Mia when that big one there mooed at her.
Of course, it was still Thanksgiving.
So we had to say good bye to the cows and head back inside for pie!

A Thanksgiving visit

So Thanksgiving was this past week, and we got to spend it with Aunt Krista and Mia.
There was a theme to this holiday.
It was called don't look at the camera and stuff your face.
Which we all did willingly.
Luckily, it was gorgeous day to burn off some calories.
So we headed outside to play.
More pics to come.....

A trip to Kentucky

We took a trip to Kentucky on a dreary October Saturday for my graduation.

We visited the campus of Frontier Nursing University.

Then headed off to my official graduation ceremony.
I actually finished my program last December, but since there is only one ceremony each year, this was my opportunity to celebrate obtaining my master's degree.
The children, of course, were super excited, especially the older boys. :op

There was a hooding and a pinning and unfortunately, due to the lighting, some blurring too.
The weekend culminated in the defacing of my body
Along with a few of my Frontier sisters.

Come on in

Okay, since you've asked for it, and I've been a slacker blogger.
I'm pretty sure I took this picture straight on but it sure looks like the porch is crooked. Not much to see out here. We never use this door as we always come in the garage.
But, if you were to come in this door, this is what you would see.

You could walk straight down the hall into the dining room

Or head up the stairs, but that is where the children live, so you don't want to go there.
It is generally a big ugly mess.

If you turned to your right at the front door, you would head into..

the Mama and the Papa's room

which leads into this bathroom with the huge tub that looks really inviting
but is usually a preschooler swimming pool or a glorified dog bath.

The doorway to the left in the entry hall leads into the living room
which is where I'm sometimes reminded how cute my kids are
unless of course, they are behind me, fighting over the remote.

Walking through the doorway there on the right will lead you into

the kitchen
which required some strategic posing to avoid the mess on the counter.
Ignore the fingerprints on the fridge.
And off the kitchen is the mudroom/office/entry/segway to the laundry room.
And that's all you get for now.
There's a horse in my front yard.
