Welcome 2010!

Resolving resolutions

Or should that be revolving?

So, almost 365 days ago, I decided to avoid the whole set up to fail resolution making tradition and just set a few little goals.

Hmmm, what were those?

  • Lose 10 pounds.
  • Pay down debt by paying off 2 credit cards.
  • Stay in school.

Check, check, check. I did lose 10 pounds. Twice. :op I would like to lose a bit more though, so I think I'm going to hang on to that goal. Paying down debt? Well, we did pay off a couple credit cards, but we acquired braces with some attached in house financing. And there are still a few pesky credit cards hanging around. So I think I'll stick with that goal too. And the last one? That was the easiest. I have to admit this last little bit of Fall quarter was really kicking my butt. I was pulled too many directions and felt like I was drowning. But, I still managed to pass with an A average and am moving into quarter #6, so I'm going to keep that goal too.

So for 2010:

  • Lose 10 pounds.
  • Pay off 2 credit accounts.
  • Stay in school.

Sounds pretty easy huh?

Brrrr!

So it's supposed to be like 9 degrees on Saturday night. Perfect time for our furnace motor to kick the bucket, eh?
We got by with our electric fireplace and extra layers today . Surprisingly, 59 degrees didn't feel all that cold with long johns, jeans, a long sleeve tee, sweater, fuzzy socks and slippers.
The HVAC folks were able to rig a temporary fix this afternoon until the part can come in. The replacement part? $800+.
Needless to say, I had a minor heart attack right before Bobby mentioned that it's still under warranty.

Peek A Boo

The little baker

Tatum got an Easy Bake oven from Aunt Krista at our family Christmas. And yes, I just noticed that three of my kids were still wearing pjs that night. Anyway, after a run to the store for a lightbulb the next day, Tate insisted on trying it out.
She baked up some sugar cookies. As if we didn't already have enough.
They actually were pretty tasty. On to cake baking......

Holiday fest 09

We took the kids to the Beach Waterpark for their Holiday Fest. Luckily, we went Saturday night before all the snow on Sunday. You can see, with this bunch, it takes a couple tries to get a decent picture.

Even Tess enjoyed the petting corral. This calf was sniffing her out for milk. Notice he ignored the corn chips on her tray.

Tatum did surprisingly well for her first time on ice skates, although she did bite the dust several times.
Their favorite part was the toboggan slide. Unfortuntely, they came down way too fast for me to figure out how to adjust my new camera. All in all, it was a good time, even though it was
F R E E Z I N G!

Christmas recap

The morning of.....And the aftermath...

Teagan was excited about everything.
For every gift he said "It's just what I asked for!"
Ah, 4 yr olds are so easy.

Tess wasn't feeling too good that morning. She had a yucky cold.

And trying out the new toys....

Christmas around the house

The big tree
You may notice some big gaps between the branches. No matter how many times I fluff them out, the cat insists on climbing through them again.
And at night

The stockings were hung on the staircase with care....
And the kids' tree

Baking and a Birthday

Tomorrow is this girl's birthday. She's going to be the big 7. We did a combined cookie baking/birthday party day on Sunday.

Tatum wanted to help decorate the cake. Can you tell which part she did?

Pizza, presents, cookies, and cake! What better way to spend a Sunday evening.
