Reunion '10

Week two weigh in: 171.6 lbs.
Yep, that's actually a 0.2 lb gain.....but.......
There was the baby bash last weekend after the weigh in
We went to Kings Island one day were I nibbled ice cream and soft pretzels
And there is another weight loss challenge starting at work. You know how that goes. You don't want to accidently lose weight before it starts because then it won't count. :op

Moving on....

This past weekend, as in yesterday, both my Dad and my cousin Alicia were in from out of town so we threw together an impromptu family reunion. At. my. house. Which means we had to clean it.
Two weekends in a row.
There were lots of kids and thankfully, plenty for them to do since it started raining midway through.
Darci and Tess
Teagan and Braeden
Tatum and Laila

The big boys were entertained with video games. Notice the concentration.
While the big kids were enrapt with the Playstation, and the littlest cousin was passed out on the couch, the 5-8 yr old crowd began a pretty tough cornhole tournament.
Yeah, they might have cheated a little bit.
I'm pretty sure that's not the official distance between boards.
And uh, winning just meant that your beanbag went in the hole.
Braeden and Teagan
Darci and Tate

We had a pretty good turnout despite the short notice. I'm glad everybody was able to get together in one place to see the out of town members of the family. It's not often enough that they get to come home to visit.
After all the cousins, aunts and uncles headed home, Tess was presented with some extra birthday gifts since Grandpa and Aunt Krista weren't here last week.
She was pretty excited about the My Pal puppy.
And as soon as Mom figures out the whole downloading thingy it might actually teach her to spell her name.

First off, week one's official weigh in was 171.4.
Down 3.4 pounds!

And then..........
There was the second annual baby bash.
I didn't catch too many pics of the big kids. There was some speed and water involved.
Fo future reference, water ballons are a huge hit with the 5-12 crowd.
But who wants to see big kids anyway, when there are babies....

This is the only time I caught the almost two's all in one spot.

Tess's birthday is actually Tuesday, so we had some cupcakes to celebrate.
She'll be two on twosday. :op
I guess she gets a little embarrassed when people break into the Happy Birthday song.
This is her telling the big girls to "Stop".

Toddlers and cupcakes, mmmmm
Tess loves her new big girl bike
Hang on to the toddler years as long as you can Mamas,
For too soon we will be........
Preschoolers.
See you next year.

A few things

Our girls are laying eggs!
They started last week. The boys went out to water them in the morning and there were eggs in the nest box.
We have a dozen already. Some of them are pretty small, but they are petite girls.
Just in time for my low carb/low sugar diet.
Yep, that's right. I'm on a diet again.
It's these girls' fault.
Okay, maybe not all their fault, but, this is what happens when I hang out with them.
We eat, drink, and become merry.

After our trip to Alabama, a trip to Cinci with my girls, and eating every sugar laden item of food I could find, I put on almost 10 pounds! So long 165, here's looking at almost 175.
I'm a little burnt out on WW (obviously) so I'm turning to J0rge Cruise and his Belly Fat Cure.
It seems a little similar to Atkins, South Beach, Sugar Busters.....
except for with this, you are only counting carb servings and sugar grams.
My official weigh in on Aug 1 was 174.8.
I know, right?
But, knowing that I was going on a low sugar diet required me to stuff as much cake, candy bars, cookies, and pop into my face as I could handle.
But you know what, I don't even miss them.
Well, maybe the butter pecan cake, just a little.
So far so good though. I'll let you know how it goes Sunday.

Oh and hey, guess what?
The hubby passed his police officer exam.
Yay!!
Now, we just wait to see if he can find a position somewhere. It's slim pickins these days.
