Great video about advocating for midwifery. Just check out the stats for the Boston hospitals with midwives compared to those without. Scary.
I have actually referenced Dr Gene DeClerq's work in my research papers. Small world.
A Midwesterner and a Texan settling into life in the mountains of East Tennessee with a whole passel of kids. And the chaos that ensues....

They did have a good time, playing out there, in the snow, for about 10 minutes.....
See what happens when you leave chocolate lying around?
She accidently pulled it out while trying to open a plastic bag with her teeth, probably a good reason not to use your teeth to open things. Good timing though as I was starting to wonder if a trip to the dentist was in order since the new tooth was coming in behind it.
One smirky teen, one moody 9 yr old, one half crazed 4 yr old, and 2 sweet girls.
Last year, I implemented a spending freeze in January (I think). January seems like a good time because it is freezing, in general, and I feel like I need to fast after the gluttonous month of December.Check, check, check. I did lose 10 pounds. Twice. :op I would like to lose a bit more though, so I think I'm going to hang on to that goal. Paying down debt? Well, we did pay off a couple credit cards, but we acquired braces with some attached in house financing. And there are still a few pesky credit cards hanging around. So I think I'll stick with that goal too. And the last one? That was the easiest. I have to admit this last little bit of Fall quarter was really kicking my butt. I was pulled too many directions and felt like I was drowning. But, I still managed to pass with an A average and am moving into quarter #6, so I'm going to keep that goal too.
So for 2010:
Sounds pretty easy huh?
